Dear Teachers and Parents:
Did you know that Maryland recently became the first U.S. state to make environmental literacy a requirement for all high school graduates? Did you know that 40 U.S. states have adopted some form of environmental literacy, either by executive order or regulation, and that a bill is currently moving through the U.S. Congress that could soon require all U.S. public schools to teach environmental literacy?
Similar actions are afoot around the world. Environmental education is on the rise. Are you ready? Earth Preservers is a great place to start.

Earth Preservers is a never-ending source of ideas for science projects, term papers, and discussions and debates about how government, business and society are dealing with the many environmental issues the world faces.
Earth Preservers can help kids become better readers and writers. It can help develop critical thinking and decision-making skills. It can help teach kids how to speak in public and how to work cooperatively in groups.
Earth Preservers can be a resource for current events, geography and history lessons; a resource in music and visual arts classes, in fashion and design classes, in mechanical and computer technology classes. Earth Preservers can even be used to teach financial literacy. (Energy’s a big part of a household budget.)
Earth Preservers also is a source of great fund-raising ideas and projects that fulfill a student’s service learning requirement.
