Environmental Technology Goes by Many Different Names
Good grief. Earth Preservers is 20 years old and we’re only now getting around to defining what “environmental technology” actually is?! We apologize.
A better question might be: what isn’t environmental technology?
Environmental technology is often called green technology or clean technology. But that doesn’t begin to describe things fully.
First of all: what is technology? Basically, it’s a combination of science and engineering.
So what is environmental technology? It is science and engineering used in ways designed to protect and even improve our natural environment even as people make use of it for food, shelter, and so on.
But that definition really only scratches the surface. Environmental technology includes: recycling, renewable power, energy conservation, air purification, water conservation, water purification, solid waste management, sustainable agriculture and forestry, sustainable construction, and more.
Think of environmental technology as anything and everything that uses science and engineering to make a positive impact on the environment we all depend on and you’re on the right track.
