Science Project Idea: Play Muisc to Plants

Another school year is just around the corner and you know what that means: you’re going to have to think of a project for your science fair.
Here’s one that may “sound” odd:
See how playing classical music affects the growth rate of plants.
A couple of Canadian teenagers did just that on the theory that, as one of them told a reporter: “Humans are really affected by music. So we also were wondering if other organisms were affected as much as us.”
Johann Sebastian BachThe students grew plants under the same conditions except one group heard classic music while the other heard heavy metal music.
How’d it turn out? The kids reported that the classical stuff was like fertilizer.
