Earth Preservers’ eco-fashion section shows a lot of videos of kids and professional models wearing the latest in “green” clothing.
That’s great – except we haven’t taken the time to ask: how does someone get a feel for green fashion so that it’s the natural way to approach every item of clothing they make?
You might want to start with a simple project. Take color dye and water and spread them across a coffee filter. This will illustrate the problem with chemical dye, namely, that it takes large amounts of water.
Then you might want to go to the local Goodwill and recycle those old clothes into something more stylish.
These are just two of a number of fun activities that students in Indiana working with the nonprofit called Girls Inc. have been doing.
