Who’s the Real Johnny Depp?

Photo: Imperial College/Getty

As this BBC News story notes, “Naming new species after celebrities is a very good way to draw attention to your finings.

Why did the scientists who discovered a huge scissor-clawed prehistoric arthropod name it after Johnny Depp? Well, before he was a Pirate of the Caribbean, Depp was Edward Scissorhands. Scissor-clawed, scissorhands, get it?

Yeah, it’s a stretch.

Should Chris Brown Get a Ticket for Tagging on his Own Property?

As reported last week on TMZ.com, rapper Chris Brown is in trouble with the Los Angeles police for spray painting on his own property.

After his neighbors complained that Brown’s artwork was an eyesore, Brown was cited by police for “unpermitted and excessive signage.”

Signage is just another word for graffiti, which if it were done on public property would be denounced as “tagging.”

Tagging on public property is an environmental crime, but how do you feel about someone who tags his own property? Should he get a ticket, or should he be allowed to express himself through his art? Keep in mind that Chris Brown’s neighbors have rights too. Why should they have to look at Brown’s very big murals?

Earth Preservers wants to know. Would you fine Chris Brown for spray painting on his own property? Leave your comment below.

The Scottish government effectively just told him to drop dead. The wind farm will be built.

In response, Mr. Trump reiterated his threat to take legal action. But for now at least, the wind farm is a “go.”
